Real Life Music

Alright, since our Offtopic Topic was heading this way, I figured I would make a new topic out of it, since I wake up, and go to bed with my music each day.

My latest addiction is the album "Holding A Wolf by The Ears" by a band called From Autumn To Ashes.

are this post-hardcore/metal band. If you're into it, check their
myspace too. Even though the best song "A Goat In Sheep's Rosary" isnt
on there.

I'm into rock, mostly. I do hear some jazz, blues etc from time to time, and recently Amy Winehouse caught my eye. Or ear, since her looks are below average ... :P

I liked a couple of songs from happy-riot I'm From Barcelona...

I love Arcade Fire's 1st album, Funeral...

And I'm a diehard fan of Mr. Doherty's writing and hat, though I heavily reccomend avoiding his diet.

Other than the above mentioned, loads of more or less mainstream modern rock bands, such as Strokes, Interpol, Libertines (in memoriam:P), Fratellis and many more I just don't remember right now

I'm big fan of Red Hot Chili Peppers, shortly. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Yann Tiersen, SOAD, Pink Martini, Norah Jones always takes a place in my playlist. A little from this, a little from that, i listen many kind of music..

Ooh. Art Brut is so Britpop! I actually like it, lol.
And Interpol have probably played the best performance I have ever seen (on Werchter Festival 2004).

Decadence is alright from Disturbed, but somehow I don't really dig them (even though I have all albums, Im a collect-o-holic).

And Anthony really got a nice diverse taste in music :)

I like electronica, synth-pop and indie mainly. The main artists are Fatboy Slim, Morrissey, Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and a-ha.

I know (and have) too many albums. I have to agree with Toomas too.

Especially Morrissey, PSB and Duran Duran.

the only thing i like more then listening to music is making music. kind of funny, next year more than likely i'll be going to belmont university in Nashville to get a degree in music performance.

And I admire that. I wish I could do something similar. I write loads of lyrics, but cant sing good enough. And my parents dont allow me to get that drum kit in the house.

i write a lot too... but can't really sing good either. my two instruments of choice are guitar and keyboard. i've played guitar 9 years... and piano probably 11... two weeks ago i officially quit my job and started teaching guitar lessons.

i've got a drum set, but never really got into it... i just leave drums to my friends to jam on.

i've been playing the electric gutar for about a week or two. popped a string, had to wait for a couple of days to get another string, now, trying to learn to play it. it's hard.

and that was one of the reasons i wanted to be an electrical guitar player at the beginning. lol.

getting started playing guitar is the hardest part. it took me about a year of just messing around before i finally got serious.

bought myself an acoustic guitar recently, and am planning in starting classes in august, after my brief vacation

Lol, I got myself an acoustic guitar as well, quite a while ago.
I play it every now and then, I had to do something since I couldnt do drums.

Hoping to borrow or buy an electrical one soon.
Im getting on pretty well with writing my own chord schemes and such. Rhythm guitar does nicely. But I SUCK at solos and the like.

So, no speed metal for me. Ever.

Number 1 band is absolutely: The Misfits

Other than them I live on Depeche Mode, Echo and The Bunnymen, CKY, Apocalyptica, Funker Vogt, Scar Symmetry, Jimi Hendrix, Sublime and Tool.

There's a hell of a lot more but those are the ones I am drawn to the most.
